An exceptional configuration of terrain, with an infinite choice of slopes for all technical skills and physical aptitudes. The longest possible runs (up to 2000 m vertical footage). And for after ski: The exotic Srinagar, capital of Kashmir, the “Asian Venice” The comfort and the ambiance of the ancient Maharajah’s Palace (The Lalit Grand Palace 5*) viewing Dal Lake and its renown house boats. Compared to the Alps, the avalanche danger is lessened: In summer, yaks, sheep, goats roam the mountain (up to 5,000 m) maintaining numerous footpaths. These ensure a natural protection against avalanches as in Kashmir the ski is practiced on mountain pastures and not on glaciers. Today, this natural equilibrium has all but disappeared from the Alps.
